How time passes

Chronological diary of our C-litter, 2009

24 April 2009

Here we go again...

Anäis is on the first day of her season. For a long time we have been looking for the right partner for our girl and this time we found him in Belgium. Daddy of our C-litter will hopefully be CatchMe of First Avenue, owned by Gary Janssens. The next days will be busy with preparations.

3 May 2009

Today we had a visit to the vet. The first herpes vaccination and the progesterone test were done. The value is below 2.4, so we wait for the next progesterone test in 2 to 3 days time...

6 May 2009

Second progesterone test, the value is 7.2, so we'll start our journey tomorrow.

7 May 2009

We're on our way to Belgium. Hopefully everything will go as planned. We are always nervous at this stage. We first go to Turnhout to the veterinary practice of Regine Vandamme. A third progesterone test is done to be sure and immediately sent straight away to the laboratory. Meanwhile we drive on to Ranst, where we are warmly welcomed. Anäis is very happy with our choice of partner and CatchMe was happy with our girl. The mating worked simply and quickly. Meanwhile our progesterone results come through and Regine suggests a second mating in 2 days time.

9 May 2009

Today we're going back to Belgium. Again we have a dreamlike speedy mating and 2 hours later are on the way home. Now we have to wait.

5 June 2009

Hurrah, we come from the ultrasound and our Anäis is pregnant. If all goes well we expect the little ones around 11 July 2009.

10 July 2009

Our babies are here. We are delighted with 6 strong boys and 3 sugar sweet girls. The first boy was born yesterday evening at 23:00hrs and the last one today at 13:35hrs. Mother and babies are doing great.

8 August 2009

Today the little ones have their first visit from the breed supervisor. Everything is fine.

9 August 2009

Time passes and slowly the puppy room becomes too small. The little ones have moved into their puppy house. Here they can play and romp about as much as they can enjoy many new experiences.

24 August 2009

The vet comes to give the puppies the first vaccination against Parvo. We have such brave children, there is no screaming at all. The next days and weeks are filled with visits from the new puppy parents.

4 September 2009

Today's a big day. Our vet arrives and we do chipping, 7-fold vaccination and liver shunt examination. The result of the liver shunt test is already through byevening: All puppies are healthy! We are happy.

11 September 2009

Today is the day. We get a visit from the breeding supervisor, everything is checked. The microchips are checked and compared with the vaccination passports and the little ones are subjected to a rigorous evaluation. Everything is fine and our C-children are registered in the DWZRV studbook. Now the first child will soon move to his new home.

3 October 2009

Chevallier goes first. One after another will now leave our home. The last to move will be Cyrano and Clemens. They have new puppy parents in Scotland and England respectively and due to the strict import regulations they will turn our house upside down until they are 10 months. And Charlotte our little girl will help!

We wish our "children" a long and happy life with their hopefully happy new parents.
